This was the first full piece of furniture I had ever constructed from raw timber which was predominantly all done by hand; from planing down thicknesses to bevelling the door, where I had used many new tools.
I felt this was where my journey began as a furniture maker having quickly picked up many new skills along with previous experience in my time as a student I was able to show off my talent within woodworking and I believe this is the first piece I was able to prove I can continue and start a career in the industry.
I love the natural style of the cabinet and how everything fits together also being a piece produce with hand tools and the natural movement required to form the product adds to the beauty of the piece.
If I were to produce the piece again I would love to include some contrast and design features such as carving which would give the piece and even more natural feel.
